The Children’s Ministry at Easter Hill United Methodist Church is a dynamic ministry concerned with the spiritual development and creative interests of our children and youth. The young ones are not only provided with supervised bible study, but also field trips to plays, museums, wondrous sites and other aspects of creative arts adventures. Each year, the children and youth participate in three (3) artistic productions of plays and/or musicals for Black History Month (usually a musical), an Easter Sunday play and a Christmas production encouraging character development by the children and composure in front of an audience.
Our focus on the children and youth is toward strengthening their spiritual development as well as building character and effortless poise. The third Sunday of each month is Children and Youth Sunday at our 10:30 am service, dedicated to our children who sing in their choir and read scripture into a microphone from the pulpit. A stool is provided for the youth as required. This teaches our children and youth to be comfortable reading directly from the bible and fosters self-confidence. The congregation supports our youth with rousing applause showing that their efforts are appreciated while observing the growth of each child in understanding the Word of God.
Each Sunday at the 10:30 am service, we share a Moment with the Children, a special time with a special message for the young ones who enter from Sunday School and/or the choir stand (on third Sunday) to receive a lesson/message from one of the certified teachers at Easter Hill.
Our children are our future and we at Easter Hill care.
