The Children and Youth Ministry at Easter Hill United Methodist Church is actively engaged in the growth and development of our young members as they transition through various stages of life— from toddlers to school-age children, from pre-teens to teens, and from older children to young adults. We are committed to nurturing the spiritual development and creative interests of every child and youth in our ministry.
Every Sunday at 10:00 AM during our worship service, we hold a “Moment with the Children.” This is a vital time for our young members, where they come forward to receive important lessons and messages from our certified teachers at Easter Hill. We believe in the power of these interactions to shape their spiritual journey.
The young members are offered a special “Moment with the Children” message every Sunday, and their growth and development are nurtured throughout the year. Each year, the children and youth participate in various activities, including:
- Black History Month performances featuring readings and music,
- A pre-Easter Sunday weekend community service project, where they donate to a local park or community center,
- An in-service Easter performance,
- An Easter Morning Breakfast for the children and youth, along with their families,
- A Christmas production, and
- Fun outings and events away from the church, such as visits to museums, plays, and amusement parks.
We encourage character development and life skills, such as the ability to speak with composure in front of an audience. Some performances are pre-recorded using technology and shown during worship, while others are live and in-person. Regardless of the format, our primary focus is on helping our children and youth reach their full spiritual and creative potential.
Our children are important, precious gifts from God. They are an integral part of our church community now and in the future. At Easter Hill UMC, we care for them and surround them with love and encouragement!
